Bohemian crossroads

Five Points

Riverside’s eclectic five-way crossroads: vintage racks, global street food, craft taps and a reborn 1927 theater, all packed into a few walkable blocks.

Retro postcard of a funky Five Points street corner with vintage shops and cafe tables

If you only have one afternoon to feel like a Jacksonville local, spend it in Five Points. This little five-way intersection is the bohemian heart of Riverside — indie eats, craft beer, vintage racks, and a 1927 theater that just got a second life as a live-music room, all crammed into a handful of strollable blocks on Park and Margaret Streets.

The crowd is wonderfully mixed: young professionals and college students, plus families wandering over from leafy Memorial Park down by the river. It suits just about anyone who likes their afternoons low-key and their nights a little lively. Come for street-food bowls and antique-hunting by day, then stay for rooftop beers and a concert after dark. Best of all, once you park the car you can leave it — everything here is within a few minutes' walk.

The highlights

What to see & do

A small district with an outsized lineup — from an Olmsted-designed riverfront park to the biggest art museum in Northeast Florida.

LIVE MUSIC

FIVE

The historic 1927 Riverside Theatre — the former Sun-Ray Cinema — reborn in 2025 as a 1,250-capacity concert hall run by Marathon Live. It's the district's marquee, and the reason Five Points nights now run later than they used to. Check the calendar before you go and let a show anchor your evening.

RIVERFRONT PARK

Memorial Park

An Olmsted-designed riverfront park dedicated in 1924, anchored by Charles Adrian Pillars' iconic bronze sculpture Life. It's a short walk toward the St. Johns River and the prettiest spot in the area to slow down between meals.

ART MUSEUM

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens

Northeast Florida's largest art museum, with formal riverfront gardens, about a mile up Riverside Ave. It's closed Mondays and its free hours vary, so check ahead — but the gardens alone are worth the walk. More ideas like this live on our Things to Do hub.

Getting around: Parking is the one real hassle here, and locals will tell you so. Skip circling the intersection — use the free and metered street parking on the side streets a block or two off Park and Margaret, or a nearby private lot, then do everything on foot, since the whole district is just a few walkable blocks. Better yet, bike in (there's bike parking) or take a rideshare or water taxi on busy weekend nights.
